Methods and Basic Ways to Improve the Quality of Injection Mold

Ⅰ. What are the methods to improve the quality of injection molds?

1. Product quality: including product size stability and consistency, surface finish, and material utilization.

2. Service life: the number of work cycles or parts produced by the injection mold while maintaining product quality.

3. Ease of use and maintenance of the injection mold: ease of demolding, minimal production downtime, and convenience of maintenance.

4. Maintenance cost and cycle.

Ⅱ. The basic way to improve the quality of injection mold:

The basic approach to improving the quality of injection molds is through the design process. Factors to consider include material selection, the availability and safety of the mold structure, the machinability of mold parts, and the convenience of mold maintenance. These factors should be taken into account at the outset of the design process.

The manufacturing process of injection molds is also crucial to ensuring mold quality. The machining methods and accuracy during the manufacturing process can affect the mold's service life. The precision of each part directly affects the overall assembly of the mold.

In addition to equipment precision, improving the accuracy of mold parts requires improving the machining methods and technical level of the machinists during grinding and fitting processes.

To improve the wear resistance of injection mold parts, the surfaces of the main forming parts should be strengthened to enhance the mold's quality. The correct use and maintenance of molds are also important factors in improving mold quality.

For example, the installation and debugging methods of injection molds should be appropriate. For hot runner systems, the power connection should be correct, the cooling water path should meet the design requirements, and the parameters of the injection molding machine, die-casting machine, and press should comply with the design requirements.

When using the mold correctly, regular maintenance is necessary. Components such as guide pins and bushings that undergo relative movement should be lubricated regularly. For forging, plastic, die-casting, and other molds, a lubricant or release agent should be sprayed on the surface of the molded part before each injection molding process.
